SHARWARMA AND THE SERPENTINE
I apologise. One of the pictures posted today is rather over exposed. Mind you, that’s rather how I feel or at least my poor shaved bonce does. As red as a thrupenny lollypop.
This morning, while Hermano Primero was asleep, I was in the gym in our building doing an hour’s weights with my trainer. Later, while HP was at ROAST “enjoying” breakfast ( post soon come ) I was traipsing unhappily alongside my chum, Jo as we did the two and a half parks run ( a mere six and a half miles ) in 30o heat with The Serpentine Running Club. All very unpleasant. I think HP got the better end of the deal however poor his brekkie was.
Afterwards, I thought I deserved a treat. So, first a couple of pints of Guinness and then for a quick lunch to AL DAR on The Edgeware Rd
London benefits from having some excellent Middle Eastern restaurants and the Al Dar chain ( I think they have four ) has some of the better offerings.
An excellent mixed sharwarma filled with lamb, chicken, onions and yoghurt along with a large bottle of mineral water came to a mere £5 including a quid for the waiter. I suspect you would be hard pressed to get a snack in London that offered better value for better quality.
A very good incentive to join the good folks at the running club again next week. Perhaps, next time though, I will bring some factor 40
